Captains Log - January 13th 2028
Last contact was December 22nd, 3 days before Christmas. Message was confirmed received by Colonel Julius Simewell.
Notes: Days started losing meaning weeks ago. I didn’t want to admit it but the first few weeks away were the hardest. It’s been so long, I hate to admit I can barely remember my wife’s face let alone my children. They’re just fragments, faceless memories of a time when life was good. I can’t wait to remember what it’s like to feel human again.
Captains Log - January 26th 2028.
Notes: Last contact was December 22nd 2027. Since then there have been bi-weekly messages sent without response from Groton. Will try again tomorrow. Supplies are running low and oxygen is depleting rapidly.
Captains Log - February 1st 2028
Message came in late last night at 4:13 AM.
Notes: There was nothing but a picture. It was a crumpled newspaper article about a submarine that was killed in action. As far as the world is concerned, we’ve been dead for three weeks. I don’t know what’s going on but the only thing I know is, we’re never going home.
